Cold war background
The cold war began in 1945 between former allies the United states and the Soviet union. Two nations that were separating because of threats and communism. The U.S. wanted nothing to do with communism so they did everything in their power to stop the spread of it. After China became communist general MacArthur developed a plan. His plan was for the U.S. to join South Korea. Soon North Korea took South Korea to war over the 38th parallel pushing the south down into a city named Pusan. Though MacArthur's plan worked Truman ended his duty as general because he went against Truman's orders. This angered many people in the United States but that was the least of Truman's worries at the time. As the Cold war ended many other issues began to develope.
